The Centre for Urban and Community Studies (CUCS) was established in 1964 to promote and disseminate multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on urban issues.

The Centre's activities contributed to scholarship on questions relating to the social, economic and physical well-being of people who live and work in urban areas large and small, in Canada and around the world.

During 2008-2009, CUCS was incorporated into the University of Toronto's new Cities Centre. It has become the core of the research division of the new centre and the director of CUCS has become the Associate Director for Research.

This website is now an archive of CUCS activities as of 2008. It is no longer being updated. For current urban research initiatives at the University of Toronto, go to the Cities Centre website.
