A ‘Housing Practice Field
Workshop’ took place on Friday afternoon (June
25). Delegates had the opportunity to sign up for a
visit to one of 14 housing settings with Toronto area
housing professionals (public sector, private sector

Conference Dinner on Toronto's Waterfront

The
Conference Dinner will be held on Saturday, June 26 at
the Harbourfront Community Centre. The Harbourfront Community
Centre is a focal point for the new mixed-use developments
on Toronto’s
western waterfront.
Dress casually and join us for great food and conversation.
Afterwards, stroll eastwards along the waterfront, stopping
at the nearby Toronto Music Garden, designed by cellist
Yo Yo Ma and designer Julie Moir Messervy. From here continue
to the Harbourfront Centre, a lively area of theatre, dance
and film. During this weekend, the Centre is featuring Ibutsa:
RememberingRwanda, a weekend of commemoration,
reflection and affirmation. This evening there is a gala
festival of Rwandan music, song and dance. Also, the annual
festival of fireworks should be visible from the waterfront!
The Harbourfront Community Centre
is a short twenty-minute walk from Metro Hall. Exit the
John Street entrance to Metro Hall, turn left, walk south
alongside the Skydome and under the Gardner Expressway.
At Queens Quay, turn right and continue to the Harbourfront
Community Centre (627 Queens Quay West). Those who don’t
wish to walk can take the Spadina streetcar from King
Street south to Queens Quay, and walk a short distance
west to the Community Centre.
